When in the late 1960s and early 1970s, César Manrique returned to Lanzarote and together with Jesús Soto initiated the construction and operation of the Centers of Art and Tourism of Lanzarote, perhaps they were not aware of the international projection and artistic trend they were going to generate.

César, a multidisciplinary artist, painter, sculptor, conservator of monuments and tourist complexes, shaper of landscapes and gardens, recognized ecologist, created a trend from natural volcanic accidents that impacted the world and became a global reference, he managed to combine art, culture, nature, urban planning, and tourism into a single concept, under a philosophy and urban intervention model based on sustainability and respect for the natural values of the territory.

Without the Monument to the Peasant, The Jameos del Agua, Mirador del Río, or the Cactus Garden, our Island would be something else, undoubtedly it would be less attractive and with much less personality. Not visiting these Centers of Art and Tourism and being able to interpret them is like not having visited Lanzarote. On this excursion, we happily give you the opportunity to take a tour of the central and northern area of Lanzarote.

In addition, we visit the César Manrique Foundation, his first residence, today converted into one of the best private museums in Europe.
